Showcase your clinical practice, academic research, innovation, leadership or quality improvement work — clinical, academic and research submissions are all welcome.

Guidelines

How to prepare your abstract

Your abstract must be original work that has not previously been presented at a major international conference. Structure it into the five required sections below and keep it between 300 and 500 words in total. The submission form shows a live word counter and prevents submission outside that range.

Background

Context, rationale and the gap your work addresses.

Aims / Objectives

What you set out to do or the question you answered.

Methods

Study design, setting, participants and how you evaluated the work.

Key Findings

Your main results — clearly and concisely stated.

Implications

Why this matters for practice, education, policy or further research.

Co-authors

Add unlimited co-authors with affiliation and country. One primary presenting author.

Consent & COI

Confirm originality, funding and conflict of interest at submission.

Who can submit?+

Registered nurses from Malawi, Malawian nurses practising internationally, and members of the global Malawian nursing diaspora — including clinical practitioners, academics and researchers. Submissions are not restricted to people currently living in Malawi.

How long should my abstract be?+

Between 300 and 500 words across the required sections (Background, Aims/Objectives, Methods, Key Findings, Implications). The submission form shows a live word counter and prevents submission outside that range.

How many topics can I choose?+

Choose one primary topic from the approved list. Where supported, you may also add one optional secondary topic.

What can I be selected for?+

Selected abstracts may be invited to present a poster during the conference, or to deliver a three-minute oral presentation as part of the session 'Beyond the Paper: Making Research Live as Evidence'.

Can I edit my submission after I've submitted it?+

Yes. You can log in to the applicant portal and edit any time before the submission deadline of 20 September 2026.
